Over the years Pandora have released lots of different elephant charms. Their newest version, Ellie the Elephant, is most similar to the recent Lucky Elephant (791902) charm. Both are sitting in the same position and holding their trunk up high. However Ellie the Elephant has a little tail behind her and sits with her front two feet touching the ground. Oxidised lines outline her bright eyes and mark her folds and wrinkles.

Fakes are often well made. These checks help, but they do not replace an examination by a professional.

Hallmark

The stamp a genuine piece carries is shown above, next to the material. Good fakes copy the stamp, so also check its position and size.

Shape and details

Compare the piece with the photo above: outline, enamel colours, position and number of stones, lettering.

Magnet

Silver and gold are not magnetic. If the piece sticks to a magnet, it is not genuine.

Price

An offer far below the original price is a warning sign.

Packaging

A genuine box or receipt proves nothing about the piece inside it.

On VaultBase, the seller is paid only once you have received the piece.
