What sets the price second-hand, and how to look up your own charms.
Most used Pandora charms sell for less than they cost new; sought-after pieces can sell for their launch price or more. What decides it is demand: retired Disney, Harry Potter and Marvel charms, early designs, limited editions and exclusives hold their value best. Look up any charm by its article number to see its launch price and how many collectors want it.
Demand: how many collectors are still looking for the piece. Our database counts the members who have it on their wishlist. Availability: a charm still in Pandora's shops is rarely worth more second-hand than new; a retired one can be. Licence and theme: Disney, Harry Potter and Marvel pieces sell fastest. Exclusivity: country, Disney Parks and Pandora Club pieces were made in small numbers. Material: 14k gold pieces carry the value of their metal. Condition: no scratches or missing stones, ideally with box and receipt.
1. Find the article number on the tag, box or receipt, or look the charm up in the database by photo, year and collection. 2. Open its page: you see the launch price in your market, whether it is retired, how many members want it and what it is listed for on VaultBase. 3. Compare with your charm's condition. A clean piece with its box is worth more than a worn one.
A common silver charm that is still on sale usually brings a fraction of its price new, because buyers can simply get a new one. A whole bracelet sells more easily than loose charms only when the charms on it are in demand. Gold and limited pieces are the exception. Be wary of asking prices on auction sites: what counts is what pieces actually sell for, not what sellers hope for.
List a charm in a few minutes: find it in the database and the details are filled in. Members who want the piece hear about it.
